Research

Organization of genes encoding components of TOM and TOB/SAM complexes in Acanthamoeba castellanii mitochondria.

The Aims of the Project

  • Characterize A. castellanii genes encoding mitochondrial outer membrane proteins - subunits of TOM and TOB/SAM complexes.
  • Describe preferential codon usage, the exon-intron boundaries, upstream regulatory sequences using amino acid sequences, available contigs, and EST data base.
  • Use GENSCAN and ”in house” algorithms to annotate the complexes on the A. castellanii genome
